Friday, 31st May: Companion Morning Tour to Birgu (without lunch)

The Grand Harbour inlets have been in use since Phoenician times - the docks provided a living for local people but also left them vulnerable when Malta's rulers were at war. As the first home to the Knights of St. John, the palaces, churches, forts and bastions of the Three Cities are far older than Valletta's.

A drive past Cospicua will bring us to Vittoriosa or Birgu, where we walk through the various narrow streets shaded by many historic buildings and churches. There will be some free time for souvenir shopping or a coffee (not included in the price) at the local piazza.

This tour also includes a short trip around the harbour inlets aboard a colourful Maltese “dghajsa”(water taxi).

Narrow, cobblestone street in a Mediterranean town with a variety of beige stone buildings featuring wooden balconies. Potted plants line the sides of the street, and small lanterns are affixed to the building exteriors. The street curves slightly in the distance.

Saturday 1st June Optional Group Tour to Valletta

Valletta, Malta’s capital city was built by the Knights of the Order of St. John, better known as the Knights of Malta in the 16th century. Guests walk towards Auberge de Castille, a magnificent building, built by the Knights of St John and today housing the Prime Minister’s office.

We also include a visit to the Upper Barracca Gardens command a breathtaking panorama of the Grand Harbour and the area known as the Three Cities

Our tour includes a visit to the St John’s Co-Cathedral and a tour of Casa Rocca Piccola, a 16th-century palace and current home of the Marquis De Piro. Guest will be surprised with a glass of prosecco at the palace. You can also enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Grand Harbour and the ''Three Cities'' while we stroll through the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

A vibrant photo of Valletta, Malta, capturing its historic skyline with prominent domed buildings and spires. In the foreground, a colorful boat floats on the blue water amidst moored buoys under a bright, clear sky.
