Annual INPACT Latin American Meeting 2025 – Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

This year’s Annual INPACT Latin American Meeting was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, bringing together nearly 20 representatives from 9 member firms across 9 countries. With more than two-thirds of the region’s membership in attendance, the event highlighted both the diversity and strength of the organisation in Latin America. Through a program combining presentations, open forums, and member-led exchanges, participants shared practical insights, strengthened ties, and set the stage for continued regional cooperation.

To capture the spirit of the event, five INPACT partners shared their reflections: Víctor Mancilla (TaxAudit & Secotri Spa, Chile), Abdiel Filos (CPA Asesores, Panama), Jose Antonio Montoya (Consultoría y Auditoría Financiera e Informática, Honduras), Walter Gomez (WCC Consulting Group, Costa Rica), and Arnaldo Acosta (Consultora Alemana Paraguaya, Paraguay).

Q: How does INPACT support member firms in Latin America?

Both Víctor and Jose emphasized the role INPACT plays in strengthening collaboration across the region. The association provides ongoing support in areas such as marketing, annual meetings, and training initiatives, while also promoting integration through virtual platforms. These activities not only help firms share knowledge but also highlight the individual strengths of each member, fostering greater opportunities for cooperation.

Q: What are the greatest opportunities and challenges for accounting firms in the region today?

Abdiel: “The role of the accountant is constantly evolving to meet the needs of an interconnected world. We must adapt to technological changes and artificial intelligence while maintaining our professional judgment. A major challenge is attracting and retaining talent, ensuring quality of life and career development.”
Jose: “Having a sustainable, well-trained team is crucial. Leveraging artificial intelligence in IFRS, auditing, and tax work can improve efficiency and deliver greater value to clients.”

Q: Which conference sessions or topics were the most valuable and why?

Several participants highlighted the sessions on artificial intelligence as particularly valuable. Abdiel pointed to the importance of adapting to technological changes while preserving professional analysis and judgment, while Arnaldo emphasized how AI is transforming auditing and consulting: enabling faster reporting, pattern detection, and more efficient decision-making. Both agreed that integrating AI strategically is key, not just as a technological tool but as a way to create greater value for clients.

Q: What are the key takeaways or action points that members should focus on after the conference?

Víctor: “Greater cohesion among firms is essential. Members should focus on producing quarterly or regularly timed reports to increase visibility. Thinking like larger firms will strengthen the association’s position even among smaller firms.”

Q: How does attending this and other INPACT events benefit member firms in their daily work?

Participants agreed that the meetings offer significant professional and business value. Walter emphasized the steady flow of new knowledge and best practices, as well as the cultural exchange that comes from connecting with peers across countries. He also noted the visibility that comes with being part of events supported by a global organization with more than 35 years of experience. Arnaldo added that these gatherings strengthen trust and collaboration among firms, creating opportunities to share experiences, develop joint projects, and broaden each firm’s vision to deliver more comprehensive solutions to clients.

Q: What are members most excited about regarding future initiatives or the next conference?

Walter: “Members look forward to learning, facing challenges, discovering new traditions, gaining professional experiences, and reconnecting with groups they have built strong relationships with over the years.”

Q: If you had to summarize the conference in three words, what would they be?

Víctor: “Commitment, experience, challenge.”
Abdiel: “Knowledge, exchange of ideas, business opportunity.”
Jose: “Integration, knowledge, business.”
Walter: “Learning, friendship, personal and professional solidarity.”

Q: What is the best advice or reflection you've heard from another member so far?

Víctor: “Arnaldo's insight on incorporating IT professionals into audit processes, including examples from different members.”
Abdiel: “We must evolve as accountants, becoming more involved in communicating with third parties via social media and other channels to share knowledge and perspectives.”
Jose: “Prepare for succession to ensure the growth of the firms and the association.”

A message from Daniel Perez, Executive Director of INPACT:

"It was a pleasure to attend the meeting in the Dominican Republic and connect with our Latin American members. Having attended these regional meetings every year for the last decade, I gain a deeper understanding of the region, its members, and the challenges they face. At the same time, I see the strength of the association and how INPACT helps build strong relationships among the firms.

The atmosphere is a wonderful mix of friendliness and professionalism, with participants eager to share and learn from each other. Hearing real examples of collaboration throughout the year - such as shared clients and joint projects, is always rewarding and demonstrates the true value of the organization. I am particularly proud to see increased participation from new members, whose energy and ideas are welcomed by experienced members, making each meeting more successful than the last."

The Annual INPACT Latin American Meeting reinforced the region’s strong network, fostered knowledge exchange, and inspired members to continue collaborating across borders.
